Description:
In this painting from 1912, Jan Mankes portrays the young Anna Veldman (1908–1996). Her identity was confirmed in 2025 following research by the RKD. Anna lived with her family in De Knipe, near the artist. Her mother worked for the Mankes family, and Anna accompanied her on visits, during which she posed for the painter.
