A Glimpse of the Collection
The collection brings together paintings and works on paper by Dutch masters, Scandinavian painters, French Impressionists and petit maîtres from across Europe, with a particular focus on the period around 1900.
The common thread is a strong sense of artistic individuality. The collection includes artists with a taste for travel, independent-minded spirits, female artists and talents whose lives were cut short, including Carel de Nerée tot Babberich, Jan Mankes and Nola Hatterman.
The selection is guided first and foremost by personal taste, with an eye to the demands of the market. The gallery has a particular affinity with self-portraits, spontaneous oil sketches, studies of nature and artists with an idiosyncratic vision. The collection encompasses works associated with Impressionism, Symbolism, Naturalism, Expressionism and Cubism.

About the Gallery
Alongside paintings and works on paper for sale, the website features background stories on artists, developments in the art market, new discoveries and auction news. Together, they offer an insight into the collection and the way I approach art.
As an art historian (MA), I combine art-historical research with the day-to-day practice of the art trade, with a particular focus on the work of Siebe ten Cate, Jan Mankes, Carel de Nerée tot Babberich and Nola Hatterman. I advise collectors on the acquisition and sale of exceptional works through private sales, brokerage and personal guidance. I also write the column 'Notes from the Art Trade' for Tableau Fine Art Magazine, where I explore remarkable finds, forgeries and the often unexpected journeys involved in uncovering the history of a work of art.
